Callicoma

Calicoma Callicoma or letter of agreement with his Spanish pronunciation is a genus of plants containing a single species, Callicoma serratifolia, a large shrub or small tree, native to Australia.

They grow in rain forests and jungles and near the coast in New South Wales and southern Queensland.

Characteristic

The calicoma is a small tree that can reach 20 meters in height, although in cultivation usually reaches 6-10 meters in length 3. Its leaves are lanceolate or elliptical with up to 12 cm long and 5 cm wide with coarsely serrated margins.

The upper leaf blade is dark green, while the lower back is white due to the presence of white hairs. Flowers in globular heads of pale yellow at the bottom of the spring and early summer. These averaged 1.5 cm in diameter and have petioles 1-2 cm long.
